Greg Hach Calls for George Santos to Remove Lies from Congressional Campaign Website

Santos Continues to Mislead Constituents with Debunked Claims About 9/11, Work Experience, and More

NASSAU COUNTY – Small business owner, U.S. Air Force veteran, attorney, and candidate for U.S. Congress in New York’s 3rd District, Greg Hach today demanded that George Santos remove the many egregious lies that remain on Santos’s congressional campaign website.

“George Santos is deliberately misleading 3rd District voters, papering his website with blatant lies. He is clearly unable to separate fact from fiction,” said Hach. “I call on Santos to remove the numerous and obvious falsehoods he continues to promote on his campaign website today.”

Among the lies currently being promoted by Santos is the disproven statement that his mother was in the South Tower on September 11, 2001. Another includes his “work” as “an experienced businessman, financier, and investor with extensive work in capital markets, bio-tech, and M&A.”

SANTOS CAMPAIGN WEBSITE EXCERPT:

George’s mother was in her office in the South Tower on September 11, 2001, when the horrific events of that day unfolded. She survived the tragic events on September 11th, but she passed away a few years later when she lost her battle to cancer (https://georgeforny.com/about/).

FALSE: Santos’ mother was in Brazil during the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Immigration records reported by The Washington Post show that Santos’ mother was admitted to the U.S. in April 2003 and had not been in the country since 1999. She had been living in Rio de Janeiro.

SANTOS CAMPAIGN WEBSITE EXCERPT:

George is an experienced businessman, financier and investor, with extensive work in capital introduction, real estate, capital markets, bio-tech and M&A. He has experience delivering results in the world of business and now he will take that same drive to Washington to deliver results for New York’s Third Congressional District (https://georgeforny.com/about/).

FALSE: Santos never worked for the financial institutions or went to the colleges he’s claimed. Santos never worked on Wall Street as he claims. Representatives from Citigroup and Goldman Sachs told the Times there was no record of his employment. A company Santos was connected to – Harbor City Capital – in 2021 was charged by the SEC with running a Ponzi scheme.
