America is assaulted daily. Cyberattacks, malware, viruses, spyware that daily attack our pipelines, ports, dams, hospitals, factories, and utilities large and small. One successful strike could shut down a critical portion of our electrical grid and would stifle food supply chains, water treatment systems, pipelines and inflict untold damage to our economy. 

Government must lead. Our enemies have entire branches of their military focused on inflicting as much damage as possible through cyberwarfare. Countering this grave threat requires a coordinated national response:

• We must redouble our efforts to protect vital and critical infrastructure, electric lines and power supplies. 
• Ensure that the newly created Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency has the funding and teeth necessary to protect our country’s critical power grid and other critical infrastructure.
• Work with state and local governments, schools, and law enforcement agencies to modernize their technology and security systems. 
• Help businesses, large and small, to protect themselves.
