Statement by Greg Hach

Dear Friends,

New York politics really is a cesspool.

You knew that already, but in case you had any doubts, I can now confirm it.

After working for almost a year to establish my conservative-Republican candidacy for Congress in New York’s 3rd Congressional District — and pledging a million dollars of my own money to run a winning race — the backroom players in the Nassau County GOP sued me in court to throw me off the ballot on ridiculous technicalities and thereby deny you, the voter a real choice in the coming election.

It seems they’d rather have liberal lobbyist Mike LiPetri, a former aide to progressive New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and a business partner to disgraced Rep. George Santos, representing Republicans on the ballot in November. Mr. LiPetri, whom I have  no personal animosity toward, has raised no money and isn’t even campaigning. National experts are no longer looking at this race. It’s now considered a shoe-in for incumbent Congressman Tom Suozzi (D).

LiPetri’s candidacy follows the Nassau GOP’s disastrous decision to back Democrat Mazi Pilip in this year’s failed special election.

Does that seem strange to you, too?

I decided to run for Congress for all the right reasons. As a husband, father, successful  attorney, and U.S. Air Force veteran, I couldn’t stand by and watch this country atrophy, economically, militarily, and socially. President Biden’s disastrous and ever-changing foreign policy has made the world far less safe, and his overspending in Washington continues to drive crippling inflation that New Yorkers simply can’t afford.

Mr. Biden’s half-baked immigration policies, moreover, have brought chaos to New York communities already suffering a crime wave, with nearly 200,000 illegal immigrants flooding into our area at absurd taxpayer expense. Tens of thousands more are lining up behind them.

Effectively surrendering this pivotal seat to the Democrats, potentially handing them a congressional majority, is political malpractice.

I was running to win. I hired a top-notch campaign team, met with thousands of voters, and had television ads ready to air. But the Nassau GOP, for unimaginable reasons, did not want to me competing in a primary against Mr. LiPetri.

Please know that I’m not going anywhere. This experience has left me undeterred, indeed, highly motivated, to finish what I started.  So today, I am beginning my efforts to run for this seat in 2026. I have the team, resources, and fire-in-the-belly to win the seat for every disenfranchised voter in the district in the next election.

I cannot thank you enough for your generous support this year, and ask that you remain in touch with me and my campaign efforts moving forward. We desperately need regular, everyday citizens, rather than career politicians, in Congress.

On behalf of the entire Hach Family, thank you, thank you, thank you. You are treasured friends, and we will not forget your kindness and generosity. Having you on our side means the world to us.

Please stay tuned for more information in the coming months. This is not an ending, but a new beginning.

Thank you and God Bless,

Greg Hach
